Residential Care Supervisors

(Part time and Full time)

The College requires full-time and part-time Residential Supervisors for our Boarding Houses to commence as soon as possible. Applicants must be available to work weekends during term time.

Selection Criteria
We are seeking an energetic and dynamic person who can engage with teenagers living away from home and support them in their goal of education.
Be caring, empathetic, and innovative.
Support for the Catholic ethos within the school.
Able to communicate effectively with teenagers and staff.
Understand and demonstrate the need for confidentiality of information
Show initiative, work independently, and contribute actively to a dynamic team environment.
Involved with other staff in the daily operation of the boarding houses.
Engaged in co-curricular activities.
Participate in cultural awareness sessions for students and staff.
You must have a current WWC card and Education Criminal History Check or the documentation to complete these if appointed.

Desirable Qualifications (but not essential)
Experience in Youth Work or Residential Care position
Bus Licence (LR, MR or HR)
Senior First Aid Certificate

Residential Care Manager (2 positions)

(Full time - ongoing) for a Term 2 2024 start.

ROLE STATEMENT:

In this role you will be working under the guidance and support of the Head of Boarding, across the Senior and Junior boarding houses. You will be offering support to the residential supervisors and the students in each of the boarding houses, to support the successful day to day running of the houses, students in their emotional, social and behavioural needs and  being on call for support to the residential supervisors during your shift.

Alongside the HoB and residential supervisors, you will be responsible for boarding students from metropolitan, rural and remote locations, before and after school and on the weekends. We offer a safe and nurturing environment for students to live onsite and attend school to further their education. You will be able to support students as they adjust to living away from home and their day to day needs. Under the guidance of the Head of Boarding you will have opportunities to connect with families and promote community/home partnerships.

The school uses trauma informed practices as a means of supporting student needs. The successful applicant must be willing to partake in training and upskilling in this area and will be required to utilise their interpersonal skills with students.

The role will be to supervise and lead students in their social, emotional, physical and spiritual development and wellbeing. Shifts are offered during the week and over weekends, with the requirements to stay overnight while on shift.

Marketing and Communications Officer

(Part-time - 2 days per week - ongoing) for a Term 2 2024 start.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

The purpose of this position is to provide strong and clear marketing and communications within Edmund Rice College and its stakeholders. The Marketing and Communications Officer has oversight and responsibility for coordinating the College’s social media presence across a range of platforms including Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, and for undertaking a range of additional duties related to marketing and communications within the College.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities that apply to this role include:

  • Manage the College’s social medial channels to build our brand and reputation.
  • Manage the College’s information on its external and internal websites.
  • Source, write, schedule, and deliver engaging storytelling and content across a range of communications platforms, including the promotion of the College’s events.
  • Create, update the various College’s publications including the Yearbook, Prospectus, Enrolment Packs.
  • Support with photography of events and activities.
  • Support Community and stakeholder engagement.

WORKPLACE HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • Comply with the College’s Workplace Health and Safety policies, procedures, and workplace instructions.
  • Comply with any requirements/directions to provide workplace that is safe and with minimal risk to the health and safety of staff, students, and visitors to the College.
  • Correctly wear and maintain items of personal protective clothing and equipment that are provided.
  • Take reasonable care for your own health and safety and for the health and safety of anyone else that may be affected by your actions or omissions whilst at work.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Essential

  • Significant experience in marketing.
  • Highly developed IT skills, including Microsoft Office Professional and Adobe Suite and website/content management systems.
  • Demonstrated outstanding writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • A strong understanding of social media and the digital marketing landscape.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Photography skills: including the ability to use an SLR camera and edit photos for digital and print media.
  • Participate in cultural awareness sessions for students and staff.
  • A Working With Children Check and a National Coordinated Criminal History Check or the documents to complete these if appointed.

Desirable

A relevant qualification e.g., marketing, communications.
