The Edmund Rice College’s, Edmund Equine Centre (EEC) is one of Western Australia’s leading equine academies offering excellent facilities, highly qualified instructors, and a broad range of education courses tailored for secondary school students. Our unique Equine program is well established and extremely popular with a large number of our students. Student success rate in completing this course and career opportunities after graduation are exceptional.
Industry professionals visit the College to share their expertise, and students regularly go on excursions to gain knowledge on farriering, equine dentistry, and horsemanship. The program is designed to giving students a well-rounded understanding of the equestrian industry based on employer demands, and industry standards and requirements. Students who participate in the equine program at our College gain hands-on practical learning. They thoroughly enjoy spending time with their horses and ponies and build close friendships with fellow equine members. Students further their knowledge and skills in many equestrian aspects including, yard management, animal care, riding and competing. They gain broad experience in dealing with animals of different breeds, ages, gender, and temperaments.
The Centre is set within the main farming enterprise. It boasts a range of fantastic riding trails through the diverse and picturesque Chittering Valley, which the students regularly get the opportunity to make the most of. The College also offers a cross-country course, jumping arena, and undercover wash-bays.
Membership at EEC is available to all students, regardless of their previous riding experience. Instruction is provided with particular emphasis being placed on horsemanship in the English, Camp-drafting and Western Arena. The Centre promotes standards of excellence in safety and education.
